Kate has over 20 years’ experience delivering internal audit services, with expertise in supporting universities to strengthen their governance, risk management and internal control arrangements. Her senior internal audit roles include six years at PwC as an Internal Audit Manager, where she led programmes of work for a wide range of higher education clients. During this time, Kate developed strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders and worked closely with Audit Committees, providing clear, well-reasoned reporting that contributed to effective assurance and oversight.

Kate is experienced in delivering complex governance, risk and operational audits, producing clear and practical recommendations, and offering balanced insight and challenge.  Committed to ensuring internal audit adds real value to universities, Kate has delivered workshops, staff training and stakeholder sessions aimed at improving understanding of risk and strengthening internal control environments.

Kate holds the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification and has worked across a wide variety of review areas, including governance, risk management, key financial controls, student‑facing processes, performance management, data quality and a broad range of operational and compliance audits.
